Who we are

In June 1996 By Faith Baptist Church was started with 40 individuals who had a conviction from the Lord to start a church where anyone and everyone could find a place to feel like they belonged. After 7 years of faith, sacrifice, and giving, By Faith Baptist Church was constructed and its sanctuary completed in 2003. Since then the Lord has seen fit to bless our church with salvations, baptisms, and new members. We hope that by continuing to fulfill the mandate given our those original 40 members, to be a church where everyone belongs, we can reach our entire community with the gospel

What we believe

We believe the Holy bible to the true, inspired, inerrant word of god given by our Creator to be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. (Ps. 119:105, 2 Tim. 3:16-17)

We believe in the One True God who is perfect, all-powerful, all-knowing, sovereign, eternal and always present. he is revealed in the scripture as three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each having his own ministry, yet the three being one. (Matt. 28:19, John 10:30, Deut. 6:4)

We believe Jesus Christ to the only begotten Son of God who was born of a virgin by the miraculous power of God’s Holy Spirit. He is the perfect Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. he gave his life upon the cross, was buried, and on the third day, he arose. he is the way, the Truth, and the Life. The only way we can be reconciled to God is through Him. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. (John 3:16, Luke 23:46, Luke 23:53, Mark 16:1-6, John 14:6)

We believe God’s Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He convicts us of sin and reveals to us our need of salvation. He indwells all who place their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. He will never leave us or forsake us, but will fill us and guide us int he way of righteousness. He will empower us for service as we daily deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Jesus. (John 14:6 Rom. 8:9, John 16:9, John 16:13)

We believe man was created by god in His own image. Man, by his choice, disobeyed God; and therefore, became a sinful being, which resulted in death and separation from God. We believe all are sinners in need of a Savior. (Gen. 1:27, Gen. 3:1-13, Rom. 3:23, Rom. 6:23)

We believe in salvation by grace. We cannot earn salvation by good works or by our own goodness. We believe salvation is a gift from God given to all who place their faith in the living Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph. 2:8-9, Romans 6:23)

We believe we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works and to live holy lives. We do good works not for salvation, but because of salvation. God’s Holy Spirit produces good works through us as He indwells our lives. It is God’s will that will be like Jesus, and Jesus produced many good works. He loved people and it showed. He told us to love our neighbor as ourselves. We believe our purpose is to the share the love of God with a lost, sinful world. (Eph. 2:10, Rom. 8:29, Matt. 28:19-20, Acts 1:8)

We believe in the existence of Satan. He is a deceiver, a liar, and a murderer who has much power; yet is limited in power by the permissive will of God. He is the author of confusion and seeks only to destroy. With Jesus Christ as our Lord and by the power of His Spirit, we can resist and overcome Satan. (John 8:44, 1 Peter 5:8, Job 1:1, John 4:4)

We believe Jesus loved the Church and gave his life for it. Jesus is the builder of the Church and we believers are his building blocks. It is made up of all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and have followed Him in Baptism. We are brothers and sisters in Christ regardless of race, gender, or social status. All together we make up the Church, the Body of Christ. We, also, should love the Church and the leadership of God’s Holy Spirit. (Eph. 5:23-25, Matt. 16:18, Heb. 10:25, Gal. 3:28, Ps. 134:2)

We believe in the return of Christ. He will someday return for His Church at the sound of the trumpet and the voice of the Archangel. We believe His return could be any time. (John 14:3, Acts 1:11, 1 Thes. 4:13-18

We believe in Eternal Security. When God saves us He promises to give us the gift of eternal life. Once we become a child of God by faith in Jesus Christ, we cannot lose the gift of salvation. (John 10:27-28, Heb. 7:25, John 3:16)

We believe in the resurrection of the body. Someday every grave will open and every body will come forth, therefore physical death is not the end. ( John 5:25-29)

We believe in the judgement. Some day everyone will stand before God in judgement. We saints will stand at the judgement seat of Christ where our works will be judged and rewarded. All unbelievers will stand before God at the Great White Throne Judgement where all the books of God will be opened and all truth revealed. (Heb. 9:27, 1 Cor. 3:12-15, Rev. 20:11-12)

We believe in Heaven. Jesus is preparing a place for His Church, a beautiful place where there will be no more sickness, pain, heartache or death. A place, where those who have placed their faith in Christ, shall live with Him throughout eternity. (John 14:1-6, Rev. 21:1-8)

We believe in Hell. There is a place where the nonbelievers will spend eternity separated from the Lord. It is a place of everlasting torment. (Luke 16:19-31, Rev. 20:10, 15)

We believe in the Priesthood of the Believer. Jesus Christ is our Great High Priest and through Him we have access to God’s Throne of Grace. Through Jesus Christ we can personally approach God in prayer. We can also study and interpret the scriptures with the aid of God’s Holy Spirit. ( Heb. 4:14-16, 1 Peter 2:9)

We believe in two ordinances given to the Church. The ordinance of Baptism by immersion in water portraying the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We also believe in the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper of which we partake in remembrance of our Lord. The bread being the symbol of His body that was broken upon the cross, and the wine being a symbol of His blood which was shed for the sin of the world. (Matt. 28:19, 1 Cor. 11:23-26)

We believe in supporting our local church as well as the church abroad through missions. The Lord has given us the responsibility and privilege of sharing the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth. The church should use every opportunity to share the love of Jesus with the people of our community as well as those around the world. (Matt. 28:19, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:47, Acts 1:8)

We believe the Genesis’ account in the Old Testament and the Roman’s account in the New Testament clearly states that God created only two sexes of human beings which are male and female. It is never in God’s will, neither is it humanly possible for one sex to transition into another sex. Neither sex can change the sexual makeup of their DNA. The sex of a human being is determined by God only. The sex and life of a human being is determined by God at conception. Any perversion of God’s design in a person’s sex is a sin against God. God’s intention in marriage is only between one man and one woman. Any perversion of this design is sin. God can forgive and restore all human beings of sin who are willing to repent and seek Him. This includes all sexual sin. By Faith Baptist Church welcomes all people with love and fellowship, but we will not accept the practice of any sin
